Kentucky Derby

Monday April 30, 2007

The Kentucky Derby will be run on Saturday, May 5th around 4pm. If you won't be in Louisville this weekend, you can still catch it on live television at Lone Star Park or at one of Dallas's many sports bars.

Trinity Hall Irish Pub and RestaurantFor those staying home for the Derby, mix up a few mint juleps and have some friends over to help celebrate. A mint julep has only four ingredients (mint, sugar, water, and bourbon) and the most important by far is the bourbon, a Kentucky style of whiskey. To help in selecting a bourbon, stop by Trinity Hall's whiskey tastings on the first Tuesday of every month. Okay, so they may not be tasting Kentucky whiskey, but the Irish whiskeys are quite good, too.
