Q Cinema

Q Cinema is celebrating its tenth year with this year's film festival. Q Cinema aims to provide a voice for gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgendered persons by presenting films, videos and live programs that not only represent the diversity of our community but educate, enlighten and entertain. Thirty films from many countries will be shown during the ten-day film festival, many of them premieres in Texas or the Southwest. An evening with Leslie Jordan and reception afterwards (May 31, 8 p.m.), book-signing brunch with Leslie Jordan, director and actor appearances, a drag pageant, play, musical, and galas round out the events.

Were the World MineThe Q Cinema film festival opens May 29 at 7:30 p.m. with "Were the World Mine" -- inspired by Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream -- at the Rose Marine Theater at 1440 N. Main Street in Fort Worth followed by an opening night gala. Tickets are $15 for an opening or closing night film and $20 for an opening or closing film and party. Single tickets for other films cost $8. A variety of passes are available at the Q Cinema web site.
