Here's a smattering of free stuff to do in Dallas and the surrounding area for Sep 25-Oct 1:
Thu, Sep 25- 4 p.m., meet Jack Hanna, zookeeper and author of Jungle Jack: My Wild Life, at the Barnes & Noble at Lincoln Park (7700 West Northwest Highway in Dallas).
- 5 p.m.-7 p.m., the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History is having a party in front of the National Cowgirl Museum in the Fort Worth Cultural District. Enjoy live music, art activities, lemonade, ice cream, and more. Hamburger and hot dog dinners will also be available for $8.
- 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m., watch the Dallas Black Dance Performers at One Arts Plaza (1722 Routh Street) in downtown Dallas.
- 10:30 a.m., the Amon Carter Museum has a new parents tour each month. Pack up the baby stroller and meet other parents outside the Museum Store for a guided tour through the art. This is recommended for parents with pre-toddlers. Reservations are not required, but parents can call (817) 989-5031 to receive helpful instructions.
- 3 p.m.-7 p.m., enjoy free admission to the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame in the Fort Worth Cultural District.
- 4:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m., St. Paul's Jazz Band performs at One Arts Plaza (1722 Routh Street) in downtown Dallas.
- 10 a.m.-5 p.m., seven museums in the Fort Worth Cultural District offer free admission, family-friendly activities, and live performances by Fort Worth's art groups.
- 2 p.m., Professor Brainius and Team Family will amaze the kids with science experiments and tricks at NorthPark Center.
- 2 p.m., Pegasus Theatre presents the live play “Know-No” at Dallas West Library (2332 Singleton Boulevard) as part of the inaugural Dallas Free Night of Theater.
- 2 p.m., meet mystery author Rebecca Hall (How to Wash a Cat) at the Barnes & Noble in the Shops at Highland Village (4100 Deer Creek in Highland Village).
- 7 p.m.-9 p.m., singer and entertainer Goga performs at One Arts Plaza (1722 Routh Street) in downtown Dallas).
- 10 p.m., listen to blues singer Tamara Peterson at the South Dallas Cultural Center (3400 S. Fitzhugh Avenue).
- 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., enjoy guitarist and entertainer Yoban at One Arts Plaza (1722 Routh Street) in downtown Dallas.
- 3:15 p.m., the Dallas Cowboys play the Washington Redskins on the big screens at the Granada Theater (3524 Greenville Avenue) in Dallas. Doors open at 2:45 p.m. Arrive twenty minutes before kickoff and the first beer is free. Parking is free on Sundays.
- noon-2 p.m., the Fort Worth Classical Guitar Society will present guitarists Carlo Pezzimenti and Christopher McGuire in a concert at Burnett Plaza (801 Cherry Street) in downtown Fort Worth.
- 4 p.m., meet Terrell Owens (Finding Fitness: Making the Mind, Body, and Spirit Connection for Total Health ) at the Barnes & Noble in Lincoln Park (7700 West Northwest Highway) in Dallas.
- 7 p.m.-8 p.m., Renee Snider, Certified Wellness Coach and radio host will share why women's self-care is important at the Dallas Public Library (1515 Young Street) in downtown Dallas across from City Hall.
