Election Day

Tuesday November 4, 2008
Vote Button

It's Election Day. If you didn't vote in the early voting period, then vote today. I've heard estimates that up to 60% of those who will likely vote have already done so. Also, there are far more polling places open on election day than during early voting. That means -- for people like me who didn't bother yet -- the lines will be short today. The choices we make in the voting booth directly affect our lives for years, so inform yourself if you haven't already.

Some places are even giving away freebies to celebrate voting. Ben & Jerry's is giving away a free scoop of ice cream to anyone who walks in 5 p.m.-8 p.m.

  • Ben & Jerry's at Plano Parkway, 1501 Preston Road in Plano
  • Two Ben & Jerry's at DFW Terminal D, but that's inside security, so only you jetsetters can pick up that scoop
  • Two Ben & Jerry's at Six Flags. I haven't checked, but it seems likely these are closed.
Get one free Krispy Kreme doughnut (star-shaped with red, white, and blue sprinkles) if you wear your "I Voted" sticker.
  • 5118 Greenville Avenue in Dallas
  • 7955 N. MacArthur Boulevard in Irving
  • 3521 Central Expressway in Plano
  • 2600 South Cooper Street in Arlington
  • 3605 Ira E. Woods Avenue in Grapevine
  • 3551 Preston Road in Frisco
  • 5745 South Hulen Street in Fort Worth
And if you've been thinking about getting rid of that tattoo, how about one free tattoo removal procedure at New Look Laser Tattoo Removal?
