Here's a smattering of free stuff to do in Dallas and the surrounding area for Nov 27-Dec 3:

Thu, Nov 27 Thanksgiving Day
  • I could find nothing free to do on Thanksgiving Day. If you know of anything free, let us know in the comments (no registration required.)
Fri, Nov 28 Black Friday
  • 11 a.m., every day starting on Nov 28 and continuing through Christmas Eve, NorthPark Center will have a variety of puppet shows, story times,and live entertainment from community groups. Every hour on the half, enjoy Scrooge Puppet Theatre; every hour on the hour, watch Santa's Toy Shoppe Puppet Theatre; at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. (noon only on Sundays), listen to Santa tell his favorite stories.
  • noon, watch the ice-skating, back-flipping, pyrotechnic Santa at Dallas Galleria.
  • noon-4 p.m., Byron Parks Trumpets and the Allen Symphony Chorus will perform during the After-Thanksgiving Weekend Sale (which starts at midnight) at Allen Premium Outlets (820 West Stacy Road in Allen, at the intersection of I-75).
  • 3 p.m.-7 p.m., admission to the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame in the Fort Worth Cultural District is free.
  • 7 p.m.-9 p.m., listen to St. Paul's Jazz Band at One Arts Plaza (1722 Routh Street).
  • 7 p.m., kids can meet Madeline (costumed character) at the Barnes & Noble at Stonebriar Center (2601 Preston Road in Frisco).
  • 7 p.m., watch “Breakfast at Tiffany's” outside the Angelika Film Center at Mockingbird Station. Patio heaters and chairs will be available or bring your own chairs and blankets. Concessions and hot drinks will be available for purchase with cash only.
Sat, Nov 29
  • noon-4 p.m., Byron Parks Trumpets and the Allen Symphony Chorus will perform during the After-Thanksgiving Weekend Sale at Allen Premium Outlets (820 West Stacy Road in Allen, at the intersection of I-75).
  • 2 p.m., kids can enjoy the crazy antics of Chicken Dog and Darren Peterson at NorthPark Center.
  • 5 p.m., watch the ice-skating, back-flipping, pyrotechnic Santa at Dallas Galleria.
Sun, Nov 30
  • noon-4 p.m., John Wynn's Guitar Studio will perform during the After-Thanksgiving Weekend Sale at Allen Premium Outlets (820 West Stacy Road in Allen, at the intersection of I-75).
Mon, Dec 1
  • 7 p.m., watch “Miracle on 34th Street” outside the Angelika Film Center at Mockingbird Station. Patio heaters and chairs will be available or bring your own chairs and blankets. Concessions and hot drinks will be available for purchase with cash only.
Tue, Dec 2
  • 7 p.m.-8 p.m., learn how to create fun and floral holiday decorations at the J. Erik Jonsson branch of the Dallas Public Library. (1515 Young Street in downtown Dallas, across from City Hall).
Wed, Dec 3
  • 10:30 a.m., Madeline (the storybook character) will teach pre-schoolers all about the color blue at NorthPark Center.
