Free Stuff To Do in Dallas

Here's a smattering of free stuff to do in Dallas and the surrounding area for Dec 18-24:
Thu, Dec 18- noon-1 p.m., enjoy the music of Quintin Moore at One Arts Plaza (1722 Routh Street) in downtown Dallas.
- 5 p.m., Hyena's Comedy Club is hosting DJ Note-to-Self at Mockingbird Station, followed by Ascension Entertainment Group at 7 p.m.
- 7:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m., listen to the Chancel Choir at One Arts Plaza (1722 Routh Street) in downtown Dallas.
- 3 p.m.-6 p.m., Grapevine celebrates with Christmas on Main. Attractions include free horse-drawn carriage rides, visits with Santa, elves, Frosty, and more, and “reindeer games” for the kids.
- 7 p.m., watch “Edward Scissorhands” outside the Angelika Film Center at Mockingbird Station. Patio heaters and chairs will be available or bring your own chairs and blankets. Concessions and hot drinks will be available for purchase with cash only.
- 8 p.m.-10 p.m., enjoy Holiday Cheer Carolers at One Arts Plaza (1722 Routh Street) in downtown Dallas.

- 2 p.m., meet children's author Lynn Sheffield Simmons at the Barnes & Noble at the Shops at Highland Village (4100 Deer Creek in Highland Village).
- 2 p.m., harpist Cindy Horstman will introduce children to various styles of classical, folk and jazz music on the harp at NorthPark Center.
- 5 p.m., watch the ice-skating, back-flipping, pyrotechnic Santa at Dallas Galleria.
- 8 p.m.-10 p.m., enjoy Holiday Cheer Carolers at One Arts Plaza (1722 Routh Street) in downtown Dallas.
- 2 p.m.-5 p.m., Grapevine celebrates with Christmas on Main. Attractions include free horse-drawn carriage rides, visits with Santa, elves, Frosty, and more, and “reindeer games” for the kids.
- 6:45 p.m., watch the Dallas Cowboys play the Baltimore Ravens on three huge screens at the Granada Theater. Kickoff is at 7:15 p.m. Stay to see roots rock musician Phil Pritchett in a free concert immediately following the game.
- 7 p.m., the Plano Senior High steel drum band performs at Central Market (320 Coit Road in Plano).
- 10 p.m., check out Bad Ass Jazz Night at the Amsterdam Club (831 Exposition Avenue, near Fair Park in Dallas).
- noon-5 p.m., jazz harpist Carlos Guedes performs at Central Market (320 Coit Road in Plano).
- 10:30 a.m., preschool kids can learn the stories, songs and the history of Kwanzaa at NorthPark Center.
