Free Stuff To Do in Dallas

Merry Christmas, everyone! The free stuff is late this week, but there's still some good stuff. For more free things, check out the museums around the Metroplex that don't charge admission. Here's a smattering of free stuff to do in Dallas and the surrounding area for Dec 25-31:
Thu, Dec 25, Christmas Day- 6 p.m.-10 p.m., the Vaderville Extreme Christmas Light Show goes on every night until Jan 1. Fri-Sat, 6 p.m.-11 p.m. and Sun-Thu, 6 p.m.-10 p.m. Tune your car radio to 107.3 FM to hear the sounds synchronized with the lights. If you enjoy the show, consider donating canned goods to the Hilltop Church Hope Bank – a dropoff point is at the light show.
- 1 p.m., the Gwaride Kwanzaa parade starts at Lincoln High School (2826 Hatcher Street, near the intersection of Malcolm X Boulevard).
- 3 p.m.-7 p.m., admission to the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame in the Fort Worth Cultural District is free.
- 2 p.m., elementary school-aged kids will enjoy traditional holiday favorites on the dulcimer and violin, along with a craft at NorthPark Center.
- 2 p.m.-4 p.m., watch Hoosiers (1986, Gene Hackman, Dennis Hopper) at the Central Branch of the Dallas Public Library (1515 Young Street in Dallas).
- 11 a.m.-5 p.m., admission is free to the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth (3200 Darnell Avenue in the Fort Worth Cultural District).
- 2:30 p.m., kids will enjoy learning more about the Kwanzaa holiday with Melody Bell at the J. Erik Johnsson Branch of the Dallas Public Library (1515 Young Street in downtown Dallas).
- 2 p.m., Mister Willy will tell stories and sing songs for the kids at the J. Erik Johnsson Branch of the Dallas Public Library (1515 Young Street in downtown Dallas).
- 10:30 a.m., preschool kids can enjoy storytelling and music with Lisa Muratore at NorthPark Center.
