Here's a smattering of free stuff to do in Dallas and the surrounding area for May 28-Jun 3:

Thu, May 28
  • 7 p.m.-8 p.m., listen to the bluegrass sounds of White House Harmony at the Old Bedford School (2400 School Lane in Bedford).
  • 7 p.m.-8 p.m., Elvis impersonator Larry Stillwell will perform at the Hurst Public Library (901 Precinct Line Road) in Hurst.
  • 7 p.m.-9 p.m., listen to the Josh Goode Band at One Arts Plaza (1722 Routh Street in downtown Dallas).
  • dusk, watch "Ratatouille" in the Chisholm Trail parking lot in downtown Fort Worth. Take the TRE to the Fort Worth ITC station and walk up the hill to Main Street and turn right.
Fri, May 29
  • noon- 1 p.m., spend your lunch hour listening to the jazz and soul sounds of Fingerprints at Diego's Courtyard in Solana Village (highway 114 and Kirkwood Boulevard in Westlake).
  • 3 p.m.-7 p.m., the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History and the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame have a free family Friday, where exhibits are free to the public.
  • 6 p.m.-8 p.m., try free food and drink samples at Deep Ellum's new restaurant Po-Bill's Cafe (2933 Commerce Street).
  • 7 p.m.-9 p.m., listen to the music of News Team Assemble at Hot Topic in the Dallas Galleria.
  • 7 p.m.-10 p.m., The Signature Band will perform at One Arts Plaza (1722 Routh Street in downtown Dallas).
Sat, May 30
  • 7 p.m.-10 p.m., Skyler Stonestreet will perform at One Arts Plaza (1722 Routh Street in downtown Dallas).
  • 7:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m., listen to the World Roots Americana sounds of Beyond the Pale at Rustin Pavilion in the Southlake Town Square (Main Street and Southlake Boulevard in Southlake).
  • dark until 10:30 p.m., join the Fort Worth Astronomical Society at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History for a star party. Members of the FWAS set up their (very nice) telescopes to view the most interesting parts of the night sky.
Tue, Jun 2
  • 10:30 a.m.-11:15 a.m., kids ages 4-6 will enjoy art activities based on the book “Roberto, the Insect Architect” by Nina Laden at the Kimbell Art Museum. The activities are free, but reservations are required. Call (817) 332-8451, ext. 297.
  • 7 p.m.-8 p.m., learn about dream interpretation and the universal language of the mind at the Central Branch of the Dallas Public Library (1515 Young Street in downtown Dallas, across from City Hall).
Wed, Jun 3
  • dusk, watch "Twilight" on Victory Park's big screens.
