Holiday Lighting Bigger in Texas

Waking up to see snow in your palm trees is not typical in December. Or ever. The average temperature for a December day in Dallas is 57 degrees. The chilly weather put me in the holiday spirit, so I drove to Frisco Square Wednesday night to check out the synchronized light and music show.

Frisco resident Jeff Tykoski - who started out decorating his home before turning pro - designed the downtown display with 5 miles of extension cords and lights. He's like Clark W. Griswold (Chevy Chase in Christmas Vacation) on steroids. I was exhausted after putting 5 strings of lights on my tree.

I'm pretty sure pilots use Tyloski's display as a visual for landing planes at DFW Airport.

This is just one of many holiday events in the DFW area.
