DMA Offers Free Admission for Military Personnel and Families

Beginning Friday, May 27 all active military personnel and their families will receive free admission to the Dallas Museum of Art, including our special exhibition Art of the American Indians: The Thaw Collection, through Sunday, September 4. This is the second year that the DMA has participated in the national Blue Star Museums program.

I think it is a nice gesture that DMA is offering free admission to the museum during Memorial Day weekend but I feel this offer should be given to our Veterans as well. All of our service members are important active, disabled and veterans. Let’s give thanks to all of them equally.

I agree, my husband is a Veteran at a young age, just like so many others and he paid a great price for being in the military. Why are the Veterans and there families included.

Why don’t we give free admission to everyone and their families? Why don’t we admit the whole world? Museum needs money to pay the bills.
