Add Some Fun to Your Spring Break Staycation

By March 14, 2012

There's still plenty of time to plan some fun this week. Here are some of my favorite things to do in DFW.

The Nasher Sculpture Center
I'm a huge fan of the arts. The weather is really pretty nice this week -- it's partly cloudy and warm but there's only a 20% chance of rain this week. So check out the great open-roof museum at The Nasher Sculpture Center. You can party til midnight during Spring Break and it's free on Friday, March 16, 2012. Catch Emerald City in concert at 7 p.m. followed by the Oscar award-winning film "Hugo" at 9 p.m.

Dallas Blooms!
What's better than half a million blooming bulbs? I can't think of much. If you want to take cute photos of your kids this week, there's no better place for photos that the Dallas Arboretum. Without a doubt, Dallas Blooms! is the best floral festival in the southwest. You won't find a prettier backdrop for photos. The kids will love the playground with a mud hut, teepee and more fun down by the lake.

St. Patrick's Day Events
Some St. Patty's Day events  are family-oriented and others are for the 21-and-over crowd. The Greenville Avenue St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday starts out as a family event -- but as the day goes on, it's definitely for adults.

More Spring Break Activities in DFW
I'm hearing that some of the popular activities like LEGOLAND might be crowded or even sold out. Be sure to check before heading out. I recently added Cosmic Jump to this list. You can play on the Dodgeball Trampolines or Slam Dunk Trampolines. Now that sounds like fun to me.

Have a safe and happy Spring Break.
