Fall's in the air. I felt it on the patio when I was having dinner Tuesday night in Dallas. Cooler temps mean it's more fun to spend time outside. Here are some great things to do the weekend of October 19, 20, 21.
Deep Ellum Outdoor Market
The Deep Ellum Outdoor Market will once again take place on Saturday, October 20 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the 2800 block of Main St. DEOM will close down the street from Malcolm X to Crowdus to make way for local vendors, live music, and a few food trucks like Bombay Chopstix, Eat Jo Dawgs, and the Butcher's Son. Zen Bistro and Ferralog Musical Services will host pop up bars along the street. The Deep Ellum Market is free to attend and dogs are welcome.
Texas Tech at TCU
The Red Raiders are paying another visit to new kid in the Big 12 block TCU. Kickoff's at 2:30 p.m. in the Amon G. Carter Stadium.
The State Fair of Texas
It's the last weekend for the State Fair. Where did the time go? Did you get your Fletcher's Corny Dog this year? Here are three foods you must sample before the air closes for another year.
Texas Guitar Show
The Texas Guitar Show is October 20-21, 2012. Used guitars are available for sale or trade at the Arlington Cenvention Center. Exhibitors include manufacturers and suppliers of varied musical instruments and accessories, dealers of vintage musical instruments and sound gears, varied other accessories, parts, books and records exhibitors. Also to be found at the event are the varied maintenance and other services providers, repairmen and other products providers. Arlington Convention Center, 1200 BallPark Way, Arlington, TX.
Have you been to a haunted house yet? Don't wait until October 31. Scare your friends before crowds are outrageous. I still haven't had time to learn the Michael Jackson Zombie dance to "Thriller." I must do it this year.
Grab your camera, your kids (or friends/date) and head out to a pumpkin patch. Support your local farmers!
The Addams Family
What an appropriate musical for this month. Music Hall at Fair Park. Through October 21, 2012.
Autumn at the Arboretum
Fall is my favorite time to visit the Dallas Arboretum. Check out the Pumpkin Village and see the gorgeous Chihuly art at the same time. Don't forget your camera. Dress the kids in their Halloween costumes too for a super cute photo!
