Have you mailed out your Christmas cards yet? It's OK. I haven't either. I had to put a rush on delivering my holiday cards or else they might not be an option in 2012.
December 17th is supposed to be the busiest day of the year for post offices across the country. The US Postal Services said that today alone might record 658 million items passing through the mail. That's a lot of cards and packages.
My friend Bobbi who works at the local UPS store in my neighborhood said they were planning for a big rush there as well. I mailed my packages last week to avoid the rush but I'll be lucky if I get my Christmas cards out by Wednesday.
Let's see. Christmas parties. Check. Birthday parties. Check. Holiday baking. A half- check. I'm unhappy with Target for not supplying the pre-cut cookies that you bake and decorate yourself so I won't be baking Christmas-tree shaped cookies this year. I did make some cinnamon rolls for my husband's office. (Yes, I sampled one too).
What other holiday activities are keeping you busy this year? Is it time to start planning for New Year's Eve? There are special menus at every single Lombardi Family concepts restaurant in DFW. How cool is that? If you're staying at home, prepare to break out the black-eyed peas!
