America loves football and the Super Bowl is the best way to mix football, our love of commercials and great snacks.
What's one of the most popular items to snack on during the big game? Chicken Wings of course. Fried chicken parts, tossed and sauced in something ranging from mild to wild.
Dallas Cowboys MVP on Wings
I realized an interesting fact while watching Anderson Cooper Live today. His guest host was Dallas Cowboys great and Dancing With the Stars champ Emmitt Smith. (He's also in the Pro Football Hall of Fame). They were discussing chicken wings and the fact that the wing is the highest-priced portion of the chicken right now.
Seriously! For random chicken body parts with bones. And there might even be a wing shortage because demand is at an all-time high. Oh no! How will we survive the weekend?
Anderson Cooper made a point that I had thought for years and years. Why eat the wing when there's a meaty, delicious chicken breast? I've always thought that and felt better when he admitted it on his live TV show today. Smith agreed that he also preferred the chicken breast to the wing.
So who makes the best chicken wings in DFW in your opinion? I ran a similar poll in 2011 when Jerry World hosted Super Bowl XLV in Arlington and Hooters was the big winner with 36% of the vote. Buffalo Wild Wings was a close second with 27%. Let us hear from you. If your favorite place isn't listed, be sure to make a comment below.
Since I'm a fan of the chicken breast, I especially LOVE Bread Winners Chicken 'N Waffles.
Hmm. Off topic: do you like them hot, atomic or thermonuclear? I'll go with hot. PS: I haven't had lunch yet either.
