Weston Gardens
Weston Gardens is a seventeen-acre nursery and gardening center that specializes in native and very well-adapted plants. Owners Randy and Sue Weston select every plant carefully to be sure it will thrive in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

Novak's Landmark Grill, across from Union Station, is a great spot to grab lunch or breakfast.

Fusion Cafe in downtown Plano is a great place to spend time with your friends. The coffeehouse offers all the beverages you're used to finding plus some good food.

Savor Dallas Victory Park Celebration
The annual Savor Dallas Victory Park Celebration Friday night was fantastic. Despite the cold, quite a crowd gathered in the AT&T Plaza to sample food from the Victory Park restaurants and taste wines from around the world. Whether it was the good food or the flowing wine, everyone was companionable. Conversation sprang up spontaneously in the lines.

Dallas World Aquarium
The Dallas World Aquarium showcases a variety of exotic and endangered species in a series of ecosystems designed to make the animals feel at home. Visitors wind through the exhibits on gently sloped paths with plenty of places for grandparents and toddlers to sit a moment. Three restaurants provide fine dining—and kids' meals—at the end of an enjoyable visit.

Poor Daddy's Barbecue - formerly Hammer's
Hammer's Bar B Que serves up a delicious menu. Plenty of parking and a drive-thru means you can get in and out of there on your lunch hour.

Pure Salon and Spa
The Pure Salon and Spa is located in a shopping center in Las Colinas. As an Aveda salon, the coloring is made of 99% plant materials and shampoos, conditioners, and other hair and scalp treatments are similarly botanical. All hair services come with a hand massage and hot towel conditioning treatment. Pure offers a full range of spa services, including facials, massage, manicures and pedicures, and hair removal. Aromatherapy options can be incorporated into most services.

Oscar's Mexican Restaurant in Haltom City
Oscar's Mexican Restaurant in Haltom City serves up good Mexican food at a reasonable price. Lately moved into a new building, Oscar's has been a mainstay of Haltom City for nearly fifteen years. A small outdoor seating area has shade over it to protect customers from the summer sun or spring and fall rains.

MK Teriyaki
MK Teriyaki serves delicious sushi at reasonable prices. Cooked food is also available for those who won't eat raw.

La Bodega Winery
La Bodega Winery offers a respite from the hustle and bustle of air travel. Located in busy terminal D, near gate 14, in the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, La Bodega sells their own wines as well as a selection from other wineries, both local and further abroad.

Eastside Mario's
Eastside Mario's is a small Chicago-themed restaurant in DFW's Terminal A, near gate 38. The cozy atmosphere and quick service make this a good choice for a bite during a delay.

Avalon Salon and Spa
The Avalon Salon and Spa is situated in a quiet side street of the West Village. Upon entering Avalon, it seems to be an ordinary bustling–albeit very chic–hair salon, but walking through an unassuming door with the unassuming label "Spa", you enter a very different world.

Burger's Lake
Burger's Lake is a one-acre spring-fed swimming hole inside Loop 820 in Fort Worth. A great way to cool down in summer, the lake is surrounded by a thirty-acre recreational area.

Interurban Railway Museum
An old-timey train car and railroad depot sit in the corner of Haggard Park near downtown Plano, housing the Interurban Railway Museum. From 1908 to 1948, the railroad depot served as a stop along the Texas Electric Railway as it ran from Denison to Dallas.

Rainforest Cafe
The Rainforest Cafe is a theme restaurant with the rainforest as its theme. Located in Grapevine Mills Mall, the restaurant provides a welcome respite from shopping and plenty of entertainment for the kids.

Lushaj's New York Style Pizza and Pasta
Lushaj's New York Style Pizza and Pasta piles their pizza thick with high-quality, fresh ingredients. They serve some of the best pizza I've ever had, but they don't just serve pizza. A full range of Italian dishes is available from eggplant parmigiana to chicken cacciatore to stromboli and calzone.

Old Mill Inn at Fair Park
The Old Mill Inn at Fair Park provides home-cooked fare at reasonable prices. The menu offers a simple assortment of soups, salads, sandwiches, and entrees, but we found it had plenty for us.

Grand Tastings
Grand Tastings offers a wide selection of wines as well as an ever-changing menu of wines for tasting.

Trinity Hall Irish Pub and Restaurant
Trinity Hall Irish Pub and Restaurant, located at Mockingbird Station in Dallas, serves up Irish fare with Old World charm. The pub is styled after Trinity College in Dublin and it looks marvelous with its carved dark wood, wrought iron details, and comfortable seating.
