The Magnolia Theatre is a popular venue for foreign films and art films. Alexander Hogue and Jerry Bywaters created ten murals in 1934 depicting the history of Dallas. These murals were originally at City Hall, but were destroyed in 1954 when City Hall relocated. Philip Lamb recreated the murals in 1995 and now they can be seen on the platforms at Union Station.

Stevie Ray Vaughan was a legendary blues guitarist/musician from Dallas who died on August 27, 1990 in a tragic helicopter crash. One of his first musical influences was his older brother Jimmy Lee Vaughan of the Fabulous Thunderbirds.
