Celebrate Fathers' Day in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex

by Heather Carr
for About.com

Fathers' Day is an internationally-celebrated holiday created to honor all fathers. The first Fathers' Day in the United States was held in 1908, but it wasn't until the Johnson administration that it became an official holiday. Fathers' Day is often celebrated with barbecues, golf, boating, or whatever activity Dad likes, and by giving gifts, such as electronics, tools, outdoor equipment, or tacky ties. Fathers' Day is June 15 in 2008.
