New Year's Eve Celebrations

Ring in the New Year with these celebrations. Some are elegant sit-down dinners and some are on-your-feet-dancing parties. Many are some combination of the two. All these events are on New Year's Eve.

Five-Star Dining

Dallas' top restaurants are offering special meals on New Year's Eve. Be sure to make reservations soon. The Dallas area has plenty to choose from, whether you prefer steakhouses, locally sourced food, French, southwestern, Asian, or fusion.

Big D NYE 2008

Victory Park turns into one big New Year's Eve party this year. Start the evening off with several dining options. There will be concerts outside in the AT&T Plaza and inside at the House of Blues. The Dallas Stars will play the Predators inside the American Airlines Center. New Year's Day will arrive with fireworks. Victory Park is easy to get to by train. Take the TRE to the Victory Park station. From Dallas, you can catch the TRE at Union Station from DART's Red Line or Blue Line.

007 with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra

At 8pm, listen to the Fort Worth Symphony play the music associated with James Bond. The performance is at Bass Hall, 525 Commerce Street in downtown Fort Worth. Tickets are for sale online and range in cost from $29-$80 per seat.

Murder Mystery Texas New Year's Eve Bash

8:30pm-1am, solve this mystery/comedy. Keith and Margo's Murder Mystery Texas will have you laughing your way to the New Year. Packages are the basic for $259 and the deluxe for $379 per couple. The basic includes hors-d'oeuvre, a four-course gourmet dinner, a glass of wine and a glass of champagne, and party favors. The deluxe package adds on a room and breakfast for two. The Murder Mystery Texas New Year's Eve Bash takes place at the Omni Dallas Hotel in Dallas.

Full Moon Murders by Pegasus Theatre

Starting at 9pm, Pegasus Theatre will present one of their "In Living Black and White" performances. The murder mystery will have the look of a 1930s film. The cost is $75 per person and includes a ticket to the show, party favors, champagne, and dessert after the show. Tickets can be purchased online. Full Moon Murders is at the Eisemann Center, 2351 Performance Drive in Richardson. Parking at the Eisemann Center is $4. The Eisemann Center is less than a minute's walk from the Galatyn Park station on DART's Red Line.

House of Blues New Year's Eve

The House of Blues has two shows to choose from on New Year's Eve: a country and western show and a Tom Petty tribute band. Cross Canadian Ragweed, Wade Bowen, and Jonathan Tyler & The Northern Lights play at 9pm and the doors open at 7:30pm. The cost for the show is $75.50--with a dinner package, $150.50. All ages are welcome. In the Cambridge Room, Petty Theft, a Tom Petty tribute band, will be playing at 10pm. Doors open at 9pm and the cost is $35. Only those over 21 are welcome to the Petty Theft show.
