The Dallas Independent School District is the second largest school district in Texas after Houston ISD and the twelfth largest in the nation with over 158,000 students. It serves the cities of Dallas, Addison, Balch Springs, Carrollton, Desoto, Duncanville, Ferris, Garland, Grand Prairie, Hutchins, Lancaster, Mesquite, Seagoville, and Wilmer with 22 High Schools, nine Magnet High Schools, seven Alternative School Programs, 32 middle schools, and 155 elementary schools.
