Burger's Lake

Burger's Lake is a one-acre spring-fed swimming hole inside Loop 820 in Fort Worth. A great way to cool down in summer, the lake is surrounded by a thirty-acre recreational area.

Burger's Lake is a one-acre spring-fed swimming hole in Fort Worth. The water is warm in the sunshine and cool in the shade and probably about a tenth of the swimming hole is in shade at any time. Open from Memorial Day to Labor Day, Burger's Lake has diving boards, high and low slides, platforms for jumping off, and a 25-foot trapeze. The graduated depth of the sandy bottom lets the small kids play safely, too. They also employ certified lifeguards to watch over all the activity.

The thirty-acre recreational area contains picnic areas and charcoal grills if you want to bring your own lunch, or you can purchase food from the snack bar, volleyball courts, changing rooms, and restrooms conveniently located by the lake. Plenty of parking under the trees keeps your car cool. Try Burger's Lake on any hot day in the summer. You'll be glad you did.

Directions

From Dallas, take 183 west to loop 820. Take 820 west to highway 199 (Jacksboro Highway). Go east on 199 to Roberts Cut-Off, the first stoplight. Turn right on Roberts Cut-Off and turn right onto Meandering Way Road, by the Quick-Way Convenience Store. Go another mile and Burger's Lake is on the right.

From Dallas, take I-20 west to Southwest Blvd. Take Southwest Blvd. to the highway 13 exit. Go on highway 183 to Roberts Cut-Off and turn left. Turn right onto Meandering Way Road, by the Quick-Way Convenience Store. Go another mile and Burger's Lake is on the right.
