Lake Tawakoni State Park is a small state park about an hour's drive east of Dallas. Take I-20 east out of Dallas for about 35 miles. Exit highway 47 to Wills Point (exit 516) and go left. Stay on 47 for about eleven miles and turn left on 2475. The park is about three miles down 2475.

Entrance costs $3 per person over 13 years old per day. With so many people arriving at the park to view the web, the park staff has maps with directions to the web already highlighted. The maps are free with your entrance fee. There was plenty of parking over Labor Day weekend.

The trail itself is flat and broad and an easy walk. It loops around the spiders' area and back to the parking lot. A park ranger and a volunteer or two will answer questions at the web. It took us about thirty-five minutes to make the circle.

Near the head of the trail leading to the web is a swimming area, boat ramp, and picnic tables and barbecue pits. Restrooms are clean and in good shape and have showers.
