"Long-jawed orb weaver" describes a family of arachnids, rather than a single species. To the casual observer, most of the spiders appear to be of the same species. They are a translucent yellowish-tan, with the largest members about an inch and a half long in the body. When they rest, the spiders stretch their legs in front and in back of them, so that they look like a straight line. Sometimes, they are very hard to see on their web.
