Holiday in the Park Opens at Six Flags Over Texas

By , About.com Guide

A Winter Wonderland:

It's the most magical time of the year at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington. Everything you need to get into the holiday spirit can be found at Six Flags Over Texas. From more than a million twinkling lights, holiday shows, toasty campfires, delicious hot cocoa and your favorite rides to the nearly 60 foot Holiday Tree of Trees, Santa Land and Santa Claus. Special moments and fun await you at North Texas’ largest holiday festival where there is something magical for everyone.

Santa Land:

With all the holiday magic in the air, it’s no wonder Santa Claus has set up shop at Six Flags Over Texas. Kids of all ages will squeal with joy as they hop on the Santa Land Express train to Santa Land. Try to remember to breathe as you open the golden doors into the frosty glittery world of the Snow Queen. Capture the joy with a personal visit with Santa in his workshop then onto Mrs. Claus North Pole Emporium for story time.

Holiday Tree Spectacular:

Don’t be surprised if “wow” becomes the only word in your vocabulary! This show continues to drop the jaws of everyone that gazes. Towering nearly 60 feet in the air, 70 beautifully trimmed trees and thousands of lights dance to a holiday score that is sure to brighten spirits.

Holiday Shows:

Six Flags Over Texas also produces seven spectacular holiday stage productions, featuring the following main performances:

“All I Want For Christmas” is an entertaining visit to a magical Christmas toy shop where the proprietress makes holiday dreams come true.

“Deck the Halls” is a holiday vocal harmony from four friends who get together for a special holiday party.

“Honky Tonk Christmas” is a Texas twist on Christmas.

“A Jolly Holiday” is the end of the evening show featuring all of the performers in a very special Victorian-themed presentation.

The Frosty Snow Hill:

With a warmer forecast in Texas this winter, this may be the only real snow in the state. Why travel to the North Pole when there’s a 100% chance of snow in Arlington! I rode down the snow hill a few years ago and it was fun. It's perfect for all ages.

Gingi’s Cookie Haus:

Catch him, catch him if you can! Throw on a button, dash a bit of sugar, create a fond memory decorating gingerbread cookies. At Gingi’s Cookie Haus, “Mmm” is on the definitely on the menu.
