First Fridays at The Modern
The first Friday of each month, the Star-Telegram, the Modern, and Café Modern team up to bring live music and cocktails in the Museum's Grand Lobby from 5 to 8 p.m. Bring your friends and enjoy diverse live performances, cocktail selections, and dinner in Café Modern. A docent-led, 20-minute tour of the galleries is available at 6:30 p.m., regular gallery admission applies. Gallery admission is free for Modern members and Star-Telegram Press Pass holders during First Fridays at the Modern.

July 3-4, 5-7 : Best Places to Watch Fireworks in DFW
Just about every city in the metroplex offers an amazing fireworks display. Check out your area and see if there are parades or festivals in addition to fireworks. Running behind this year? The Frisco Roughriders are hosting fireworks on July 5-7, 2012.
July 5-6: Pat Green and Billy Currington in Concert at Lone Star Park
What: The Lone Star Music Series continues with Pat Green on July 5 and Billy Currington on July 6. The stage for the concert will be outdoors, just outside the racing surface, in front of the sun-shaded Courtyard of Champions. The lawn area is first come, first served, and there is limited patio table seating in the Courtyard. Blankets and folding chairs are permitted. The concerts is free with the regular $5 general admission price before 9 p.m. Admission will increase to $20 after 9 p.m. VIP packages are available.

July 12-14: Taste of Dallas
What: Culinary delights from Dallas' top chefs and most popular restaurants. It's also a shopping mecca for foodies with cookware, spices, cutlery, homemade olive oil, jams, sauces and more. The event benefits the American Heart Association/American Stroke Assocation.
For the kids: Bounce houses, slides, interactive games, balloon artists, jugglers, magicians and more entertainment.

July 20: Bridgit Mendler Concert at Six Flags Over Texas
Disney star, Bridgit Mendler is set to perform at Six Flags Over Texas on Saturday, July 20, 2013.The concert will take place at the park’s Music Mill Amphitheatre. Tickets are on sale for $10 and can be purchased through Ticketmaster. The concert ticket does not include park admission.
July 28-29: Dallas Bridal Show
Mesquite Pro Rodeo
Cowboys and cowgirls (and those who pretend to be): be sure to make it out to the Mesquite Pro Rodeo Series. It's a PRCA World Championship event with big name cowboys, bull riding and lots of fun. The arena is air conditioned so it's the perfect event when DFW's experiencing triple digits. There's everything from individual tickets to suites available and nightly group specials. It's the most fun you can have with your boots on.
