Free Summer Films

Movie theatres across the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex offer free films for the kids in the summer. Some places, like city parks, set up a big screen each week.

Stars Under the Stars

May 28-Jul 2, dusk. Fort Worth's Sundance Square is showing free movies every Thursday night in the Chisholm Trail parking lot, located at 4th and Main Street in downtown Fort Worth. Bring lawn chairs or blankets. Food and drink will be available for purchase, so please don't bring coolers. No pets, either. Movies shown: "Ratatouille", May 28; "My Big Fat Greek Wedding", Jun 4; "Pink Panther", Jun 11; "Young Frankenstein", Jun 18; "City Slickers", Jun 25; "Top Gun", Jul 2. Arrive after 5 p.m. and park for free in a Sundance Square lot or garage. You might also try one of Sundance Square's restaurants before the movie.

Summer Movie Series at Victory Park

Jun 3-Jul 1, 7:30 p.m. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket to Victory Park in Dallas for free screenings of popular movies. Food and drink will be available for purchase.

Regal Entertainment Group Free Family Film Festival

Jun 17-Aug 13. 10 a.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at several theatres scattered around Dallas, Fort Worth, and Grand Prairie, G- and PG-rated movies are shown. Admission is free and first-come, first-served.

AMC Theatres Summer Movie Camp

Jun 25-Aug 6 Wednesdays at 10 a.m., kids' movies are $1. A portion of the admission will be donated to Variety - The Children's Charity and The Will Rogers Institute. Watch the films at Firewheel 18 (Garland), Highland Village 12 (4090 Barton Creek in Highland Village), Mesquite 30 (Mesquite), Parks at Arlington 18 (Parks at Arlington Mall), Stonebriar Centre 24 (Stonebriar Centre in Frisco), and Valley View 16 (Valley View Mall).

First Sunday Film Club

Jun 7, Jul 5, Aug 2, Sep 6. 2 p.m. Enjoy the classics for free at the Fort Worth Library's Central Branch in downtown Fort Worth.

Free Family Film Festival at Rave Motion Pictures

Jun 9-Jul 29. Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10 a.m. catch G-rated and PG-rated kids' films for free. Seating is first come, first served and is limited to the size of the auditorium. Free films will be shown at the Rave theatres at Northeast Mall, Hickory Creek, and Ridgmar Mall.

Movies in the Square

Jun 5-Jul 31 Fridays at 8:30 p.m. at the Frisco Square. Movies are free and refreshments will be available for purchase. Bring lawn chairs or a blanket to sit on.

Cinema in the Circle

Jun 5, 12, 19, and 26. Addison Circle Park (4970 Addison Circle Drive), free movies will be shown at 9 p.m.
