11. Old Fashioned Christmas - Carrollton

What: It's an old-fashionoed Christmas party and open house in Old Downtown Carrolltono. Come listen to Victorian carolers as stroll around singing your favorite holiday tunes. Santa Claus is also scheduled to attend. Activities include a petting zoo and a craft where kids can make a Christmas ornament.

When: Friday, December 2, 2011 from 6 p.m to 8:30 p.m.

Where: A.W. Perry Homestead Museum, 1509 N. Perry Rd., Carrollton, TX 75006. Near Old Downtown Carrollton (north of Beltline/west of Josey Lane).

Free: The event is free and so are the cookies and hot chocolate.

12. Holiday at the Arboretum

What: The DeGolyer House is festively decorated with Santas.

When: It runs from November 25, 2011 through January 1, 2012 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Where: The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is located at 8525 Garland Road, Dallas, TX 75218.
