1. The Cotton Bowl
Don't be confused. The Cotton Bowl is no longer played in the Cotton Bowl Stadium located in Dallas. No, it's now played in the death star -- aka Cowboys Stadium in Arlington.
What: Arkansas vs. Kansas State.
When: January 6, 2012. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.

2. Bridal Show - Irving
The Bridal Show in Irving is January 8, 2012 from noon to 5 p.m. More than 100 wedding vendors will be present. Doorprizes and giveaways. What: 2012 Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. It's great rodeo action, world-class livestock shows, kid-friendly exhibits, daily live music, terrific food, carnival midway, four acres of unique daily shopping and more. No matter what the weather is, you're guaranteed a unique shopping experience. Many items are western-themed but you'll find everything under the sun here.
When: January 13, 2012 through February 4, 2012. The "All Western Parade" is Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 11 a.m. in downtown Fort Worth.

4. Dallas Bridal Show
Saturday, January 28 – Sunday, January 29, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. Dallas Market Hall, I-35 and Market Center Blvd., Dallas, TX. Admission: $12 Adults, $6 Children Age 14 and Under.
The Dallas Bridal Show is the third largest bridal show in the United States and the largest bridal show in the Metroplex with over 300 wedding businesses, ranging from the first steps of planning your wedding to the honeymoon. This incredible bridal event showcases bridal party fashions daily, amazing prizes are given away including a diamond ring from Dallas Gold & Silver, and more.
5. What to Wear 2012 at Mockingbird Station
Sip cocktails, nosh and people watch at Mockingbird Station and OhSoCynthia.com's first-ever "What to Wear 2012" fashion event.When: January 28, 2012 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
What: Fashion show plus shopping, gawking, noshing, imbibing in adult beverages and goodie bags!
