1. Dec 1: Armstrong Bradfield Home Tour
The 12th annual Armstrong Bradfield Preschool Association Homes for the Holidays Home Tour will feature four homes in Highland Park, plus one bonus home with wine & canapés.
Tickets are on sale for $20 in advance from ABPA members, on the Tour website or at Tom Thumb stores. Tickets may be purchased on the day of the tour at the homes for $25.

The White Rock Marathon is set for Sunday, December 4, 2011 in Fair Park in Dallas.The Full Marathon starts at 8 a.m., Half Marathon at 8 a.m., 5-Person Relay at 8 a.m., SMU Cox Corporate Relay at 8 a.m. The Mayor’s Race 5K at Saturday, December 3 at 9 a.m.

What: Lovers of choo-choo trains can enjoy 2,500 feet of train track that winds through miniature landmarks like Reunion Tower, the Statue of Liberty and Mount Rushmore. More than forty locomotives pull train cars around the track to the delight of kids and adults.
When: November 19, 2011 to January 2, 2012. M-Sat 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday noon to 6 pm. Closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
Where: NorthPark Center
Cost: Adults: $6; Kids 3-12 and seniors: $3; free for kids two and under. Discount tickets at Tom Thumb stores. Proceeds provide almost one-third of the annual operating budget for the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas.
6. All Month Long: Holiday at the Arboretum
Don't miss this seasonal spectacular with santas, lights, costumed characters and more. A great place to take your kids' photos with Rudolph or Frosty for the Christmas card this year.7. All Month Long: Prairie Lights
What: Prarie Lights is a two mile stretch of decorations and festive fun featuring over 4 Million lights, hundreds of new displays, an all-new Holiday Magic light show, new walk-through lighted displays, pictures with Santa, seasonal food and family fun. About halfway through the drive, Holiday Village has Santa, carnival rides (rides are included with the cost of admission), snacks, and souvenirs. Cars with up to eight people in them cost $15 Mon-Thu, $20 Fri-Sun and holidays. Limos and buses cost more.
When: Thanksgiving through New Year's Eve
Where: Lynn Creek Park is at 5700 Lake Ridge Parkway in Grand Prairie. Take I-30 or I-20 to 360 and go south. Make a left of Camp Wisdom Road and a right on Lake Ridge Parkway.

9. Dec 21: Jingle Bell Run
What: The 2011 Dallas Jingle Bell Run benefiting the Trinity Strand Trail and the Mavericks Foundation is set for Wednesday, December 21 at the Hilton Anatole. This is a family friendly and dog friendly festive event. There is a 1 mile fun run at 6:30 p.m. For those who want to work off some of those holiday treats, the 5K race starts at 7 p.m. Party at the finish line with food, drinks and entertainment.
