Winter Solstice, ICE! and Lots of Fun for Everyone!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in DFW. There are some great family-oriented festivals and activities.

1. Winter Solstice Celebration

What: The 20th Annual Winter Solstice Celebration, "Our Human Journey." It's a celebration of the performing arts with dance, a light ceremony and refreshments.

When: December 21, 2012.

2. The Jingle Bells Bazaar on Bishop

The Jingle Bells Bazaar on Bishop is a 17 year tradition put on by the merchants of the Bishop Arts District as a launch to the Holiday Shopping Season. Enjoy caroling, live music, cider, and Santa for the kids! Be a part of this tradition! More details to be announced. December 8, 2012 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m..

3. ICE!

ICE! is not a typical festival but it's definitely a celebration of sculpted ice in a festive atmosphere. This special event is part of a Lone Star Christmas at the Gaylord Texan resport in Grapevine. ICE! will have you ooohing and aaahing at the ice sculptures, climbing up and down the ice slide and tubing down an 8-lane snow hill. Snow and ice in Texas? WHAT froze over???
