St. Patrick's Day is March 17 and DFW knows how to celebrate. Festivals, food, music, runs and more.

1. Dallas St. Patrick’s Parade and Festival

It's a Dallas tradition! Well, it was a tradition since 1979. But it's being updated, rebranded, and probably will be bigger and better than ever. This year the parade takes place on St. Patrick's Day -- Saturday, March 16, 2013. It's fun for the entire family but it turns into an all-day/night party for adults. Snoop Dogg will perform a concert after the big event. The City of Dallas wanted to make it more of a family event. Great idea. Let's invite Snoop!

2. J. Gilligan's 34th Annual St. Patty's Day Block Party

J. Gilligan's is celebrating St. Patty's Day on Saturday, March 16, 2013. Music inside and outside under the tents. Live Music All Day with Sting Rays, Branden Steadman, Larry Heath & Hill City, Morning People, Bag Pipes, McTaggart Irish Dancers.

J. Gilligan's Bar & Grill is located at 400 E. Abram in Arlington.

3. North Texas Irish Festival

March 1-2, 2013 at Fair Park in Dallas. NTIF 2013 is the 31st anniversary festival. Purchase tickets at DFW Tom Thumb stores and get a discount.

4. DFW Irish Bars

A list of great places to raise a glass in a boisterously fun atmosphere filled with hearty laughter and toasts from the Emerald Isle. Check out some of the great Irish Bars in DFW.

5. Catch the Band Emerald City on St. Patty's Day

Party on St. Patty's Day at The Pub in Frisco with the group that was voted the best band in DFW. Emerald City will have you up on your feet dancing in no time at all. I love Emerald City. They play great music and they are just plain fun to watch and sing along with. Don't miss them. They're located just north of Stonebriar Centre. The Pub, 3231 Preston Road Frisco, TX 75034. 972-668-9702.
