Valentine's Day Dining

Take your sweetheart out for dinner on Valentine's Day. Many chefs in the Dallas area prepare a special menu for Valentine's Day that is unavailable the rest of the year. Whether your taste runs to French or Japanese, there are plenty of options. Here are a few.

Central 214

Feb 9-14. Chef Blythe Beck has prepared a special menu for sweethearts during the week of Valentine's. The special menu costs $48 per person for a three-course meal and $62 per person for a five-course meal.

Hibashi Teppan Grill & Sushi Bar

Feb 13-15. Three Valentine's Day menus to choose from, 20% off an accompanying bottle of wine, and the showmanship of Hibashi's chefs make this a fun Valentine's Day stop. The first menu offers a choice between lobster tail and filet mignon or lobster tail and scallops for $65 per person. The second menu offers a choice between steak and chicken or shrimp and scallops for $50 a person. The third menu offers a choice between steak sirloin or chicken and shrimp for $40 per person. The Valentine's Day Menu also includes a sushi roll appetizer, special Valentine's Day dessert cake, a passion fruit martini, soup, house salad, fried rice, two-piece shrimp appetizer and Hibashi vegetables. Beverages from the bar and wine list are additional.

Dallas Fish Market

Feb 14. Valentine's dinner at the Dallas Fish Market will be in three courses. The first course will be a choice of pan-roasted Texas quail, Pacific big eye tuna poke, trio of Wellfleet (MA) and Salute (PEI) oysters or Alaskan king crab cakes and hearts salad. For the second course, diners will get a choice of seared New Zealand barramundi, pan-roasted Cape Cod haddock, Maine diver scallops or an 8 oz. American Kobe strip or Australian grass fed 8 oz. filet tenderloin oscar. The third course is a choice of desserts: chocolate fondue for two, ambrosia chocolate silk pudding, Pacific Northwest huckleberry cobbler or beignet à deux. The Valentine's Day menu costs $60 per person. Reservations are required; call (214) 744-3474.
