Veterans Day is on Tuesday, November 11 in 2008. Enjoy these parades, speeches, and other activities to honor those who serve our country.

1. Dallas

Nov 11, 9:30 a.m. The Greater Dallas Veterans Foundation is organizing a parade in downtown Dallas. The parade route starts at Reunion Arena, heads north on Houston Street, east on Main Street, south on Ervay Street, west on Young Street, south on Akard, and past City Hall. The parade starts at 11 a.m. Military vehicles and equipment and civic, corporate, and veterans organizations' displays will be on the City Hall Plaza starting at 9:30 a.m.

2. Fort Worth

Nov 11, 10:15 a.m. Tarrant County Veterans is organizing a parade through downtown Fort Worth. Staging begins at 9 a.m. at LaGrave Field. The parade sets out at 10:15 a.m. and heads down North Main Street and takes a right to go around the Tarrant County Courthouse, down Houston Street to make a left at 5th Street, and then another left at Main Street, a right on E. Weatherford to go around the courthouse and back to North Main and LaGrave Field.

3. Arlington

Nov 11, 10 a.m. A ceremony honoring Medal of Honor recipient and World War II ace Col. Neel E. Kearby will be held on the third floor of Arlington City Hall (101 W. Abram Street in Arlington).

4. North Richland Hills

Nov 11, 11 a.m. A ceremony at Liberty Park (5825 Holiday Lane in North Richland Hills) will honor veterans.

5. Plano

Nov 11, 9:30 a.m. The city of Plano will dedicate a new Veterans Memorial at the newly renovated Memorial Park (2101 Bay Hill Drive, near the intersection of Spring Creek Parkway and Custer Road in Plano). U.S. Congressman Sam Johnson will serve as keynote speaker.
