Landmarks and Buildings in the Greater Dallas Area

Profiles and descriptions of Dallas's more noteable and noticeable places.
The Old Red Courthouse in Downtown Dallas
The Old Red Courthouse in downtown Dallas is a fine example of the courthouse-building fervor that swept through Texas in the 1880s and 1890s. In an imposing Romanesque style with turrets and gargoyles (actually wyverns), the courthouse dominates the area near Dealey Plaza, even though it is not as tall as many of the surrounding buildings.
Union Station
Since 1916, Union Station has been Dallas's major train station.
Reunion Tower
Despite being Dallas's fifteenth tallest building, Reunion Tower stands tall over the city.
Omni Dallas Hotel at Park West
The Omni Dallas Hotel at Park West, located near the intersection of 635 and 35E in Dallas, is a four-diamond luxury hotel with twelve stories, 337 guest rooms, and eighteen meeting rooms. Set up to accommodate conventions and private business meetings, it's also a great place for vacations and wedding celebrations.
Fort Worth Water Gardens
The Fort Worth Water Gardens in downtown Fort Worth offer a cooling experience in the heat of summer. Built in 1974 and designed by Philip Johnson, the architectural wonder is a delight to stroll through. No swimming. No bathing.
Reunion Arena
Reunion Arena is located near Reunion Tower and is within walking distance from Union Station.
