Neighborhoods and CommunitiesThe Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, with a population of nearly six million, covers twelve counties in North Texas. Neighborhoods and communities in the area range from charming city neighborhoods to sprawling rural communities. There's something for everyone here.
Mockingbird Station
Mockingbird Station, on the DART light rail's Red and Blue lines, has everything a Dallasite needs to live: lofts, restaurants and groceries, nightlife, cinema, and various necessities. Living Downtown
For a long time, downtown Dallas was the business district and nothing else. Streets cleared out shortly after five. Historic buildings sat empty at night, some empty during the day. Nowadays, downtown still has the businesses, but the efforts have brought in urban dwellers, more shopping, nightlife—downtown Dallas has a character all its own. A Walking Tour of Downtown Dallas
Enjoy this walking tour which takes you past some of downtown Dallas's nicest parks and well-known buildings. The entire tour can be completed in about forty-five minutes, but I encourage you to stop and relax in the parks, take in some shopping, and try the restaurants along the way. Plano
Plano is the ninth largest city in Texas with a population of 250,000. Just a short drive to the north of Dallas, this affluent community is a popular place from which to commute to Dallas. Fort Worth South
The revitalization of Fort Worth South is already bringing businesses and luxury lofts to the area around I-30. Roanoke
This small city to the north of Fort Worth is an up-and-coming town. Grand Prairie
Incorporated in 1909, Grand Prairie has grown like a weed. But a good weed. Home of Six Flags, Hurricane Harbor, and several other attractions as well as a great place to live. |
