While DFW continues to face rolling power outages, the Electric Reliability Council of Texas is asking residents to save energy. ERCOT said generating capacity tripped Tuesday night, leaving the state without enough juice. By rotating outages, ERCOT is trying to prevent total blackouts.
Meanwhile, DFW is experiencing the coldest temperatures in the past 15 years. Although the sun popped out for a brief period, the weather forecast says windy (gusts up to 30 mph), cloudy and a high in the upper teens. Thursdays temperatures should range from 17-22 degrees. There's a chance that temperatures might climb above freezing on Friday.
Update: ERCOT said that enough energy is available and there should be no more power outages on February 2, 2011. Hopefully the crisis is over.
