An Eastern Tiger Swallowtail (Papilio glaucus) drinks from a thistle. The thistle is a notoriously tough flower. Traditionally, people have tried to eradicate it as a weed, but if you don't have livestock in your yard, you can use it to accent the mid-height plants in your garden.
