Top 5 Astronomy Clubs in the Metroplex

The Dallas area contains a plethora of astronomy clubs, many with around one hundred members, so it's clearly a popular hobby. Here are just a few of the local astronomy clubs.

1. Fort Worth Astronomical Society

The Fort Worth Astronomical Society meets in the UNT Health Science Center (3500 Camp Bowie Boulevard in Fort Worth) on the third Tuesday of every month at 7pm.

2. Texas Astronomical Society of Dallas

Formed in 1955, The Texas Astronomical Society of Dallas meets nearly weekly at various locations around Dallas.

3. Olympus Mons at the University of Texas at Arlington

This astronomy club meets on the campus of UTA, but is open to non-students as well as students.

4. North Texas Astronomical Society

The North Texas Astronomical Society meets in Sherman at the Gallery Frames and Art Center.

5. Lockheed Martin Astronomy Club

The Lockheed Martin Astronomy Club meets monthly in Glen Rose.
