Many DFW businesses offer senior citizen and military discounts. I can't think of a better way to say thank you for serving our country than a discount. If your business offers military discounts or senior citizen discounts, please let me know and I will add it to my list. It's our goal to help military families and seniors find great discounts and enjoy everything that DFW has to offer.

1. Dallas Arboretum

Senior Discount: AT&T Senior Citizen Thursdays means guests age 65 and older pay an $8.50 admission and receive a 20% Gift Store discount. $1 off tickets at Tom Thumb.
Military Discount: Discounts available only on military holidays like July 4, Memorial Day and Flag Day, which is June 14.

2. Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo

3. Fort Worth Nature Center

What: Senior Citizen/Military discounts on Thursdays throughout Lone Star Park's 2011 Fall Meeting of Champions for American Quarter Horses which runs from September 16 - November 12, 2011.
Senior Discount: All senior citizens, age 62 or older with valid I.D., receive free general admission.
Military Discount: Members of any branch of the military with a valid military I.D. receive free general admission.

5. Mesquite Rodeo
Senior Discount: Admission is $14.
Military Discount: $5 off the adult price.

6. Dallas Zoo
Senior Discount: Senior citizens age 65 and up can enjoy an admission to the Dallas Zoo during the fall of 2011 of $9.
Military Discount: The regular adult price of admission is $12. Military discount is $2 off the price of admission.

7. Texas Rangers (Military Discount Only)
Military discounts: Active or retired military may purchase tickets at a reduced rate. You must go to www.texasrangers.com/military. I was told that the password was "military," but when I entered that it did not work. Call 817-273-5222 for more information on discounts. The Military Monday program is no longer valid.
Active Senior Thursdays: There are no more discounts for seniors in 2011. After going to the world series, the Active Senior Thursday program was discontinued.

8. Dallas World Aquarium
Seniors Discount: Admission is $16.95 for seniors age 60 and up.
Military Discount: Admission is $18.95 for active or retired military.

The State Fair of Texas offers free admission for senior citizens (over age 60) on Thursdays during the Fair. Parking is $15 or you can take DART. Details are listed here.
