Dog Parks in the Dallas Area

If you're looking for a place to exercise your dog, several cities have started building dog parks. Most of these dog parks have plenty of room for dogs to run, catch frisbees, socialize with other dogs, and rest. Some even provide the toys. Most have water fountains, but bring your own water and dish, just in case.

White Rock Lake Dog Park in Dallas

8000 Mockingbird Lane in Dallas. The park is open from 5am to midnight. To get there, go north from Dallas on I-75 (Central Expressway). Exit at Mockingbird Lane and take a right. The White Rock Lake Dog Park is about four miles down.

Fort Woof Dog Park

750 North Beach Street in Fort Worth. This dog park has separate areas for small and large dogs, water fountains for dogs and people, benches and picnic tables, and baggies and dog waste areas. Open from 5am to 11:30pm. To get there, take I-30 west to Fort Worth and exit on Beach Street. Go right about a quarter mile and turn right at Gateway Park Drive. Fort Woof Dog Park will be on your left.

Dog Park in Grand Prairie

2222 W. Warrior Trail in Grand Prairie. The dog park in Grand Prairie has separate areas for large and small dogs. To get there, take 360 north from I-20 (or take 360 south from I-30). Exit Mayfield Road and go east about a mile. Turn left on Great Southwest Parkway and turn right on W. Warrior Trail. The dog park is about three-quarters of a mile down.

Dog Park at Jack Carter Park

2199 Spring Creek Parkway in Plano. The dog park has picnic tables and benches, water fountains for dogs and people, and waste disposal stations. To get there, take I-75 (Central Expressway) north from Dallas. Exit at Spring Creek and go left. Follow Spring Creek Parkway for about three and a half miles. Turn right at Pleasant Valley Drive. The parking lot for the dog park is half a block down.

Tipps Canine Hollow

7804 Davis Boulevard in North Richland Hills. Large dogs have two acres to run around and small dogs have one acre. Water stations and plentiful shade keep the dogs cool. Waste stations are available. Children under twelve must be accompanied by an adult and children under seven are not allowed in the large dog area. Open 8 a.m. to dusk every day. Tipps Canine Hollow is in Northfield Park about four miles north of Loop 820.

Unleashed Indoor Dog Parks

5151 Samuell Drive in Dallas. With 25,000 square feet of air-conditioned indoor dog parks, neither the heat of summer nor the torrential spring rains will keep your dogs from their exercise. Unleashed Indoor Dog Parks also has 2.5 acres of outdoor play area (with benches for the people to sit on!), groomers, daycare, a store with necessities and luxuries for the dogs, a lounge with wi-fi, and a cafe. The park costs $7.50 per dog per day with in-out privileges. Grooming and daycare cost extra.
