What: A hauntingly good time at Chaos - one of the largest haunted houses in the world. Open rain or shine. Haunted festival with concessions, fire spinners, nightly DJ or band. Voted one of the top Haunts in the Country 2009 by Haunted Attractions Magazine

When: Opens September 23. 2011. Open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights this season through October 31, 2011.

Where: 800 W. Kennedale, Kennedale, TX 76060. 817-819-6673

Cost: $25 combo ticket per person. Group discounts available. Friday nights are School Spirit Nights. School-related attire gets you $3 off admission (cannot be combined with coupon).

The Boneyard

What: Visit the largest Haunted House in Texas. Rain or shine, paved parking.

When: Opens September 23, 2011. Open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights this season and nightly beginning October 20, 2011 

Where: 2921 E. Division St. Arlington, Texas 76011

Cost: General Admission at the door: $25; VIP $35.

Warning: The Boneyard is not recommended for small children.

The Parker House Haunted Attraction

It's insane how much fun you'll have here.

When: Weekends through October 31, 2011

Where: 8550 West University, Dr. Denton, Tx 76207. The Parker House is located on the North side of University Dr. (Hwy 380) 2.2 miles west of I-35 and University Dr. (Hwy 380).

Admission: $18 general; $23 speed pass. Carnival of carnage: $10 or $7 add-on.

The Slaughter House

What: A real nightmare on Elm Street. Beware. It's also their 10th anniversary. $10 tickets in September.

When: September 24 and 30; Weekends through October 31, 2011

Where: 2615 Elm Street, Dallas, TX in Deep Ellum.

Cost: $18. VIP $30/no waiting. 214-999-0708. Only 100 VIP sold per night.

Warning: Not recommended for children under 10.

Thrillvania / Verdun Manor

What: Baron Micahel Verdun was a psychotic werewolf who built a grotesque house on Voodoo Bayou. With his vampire wife, they hosted events and may have been murdered. Now their ghosts haunt those who walk through the overgrown cemetery and rotted mansion. Enter the Maze of Chaos: take a disorienting trip through a web of light, sound and metal. If you survive the terror that awaits, you may find your way out.

Where: I-20 at Watson Road in Terrell, Texas.

When: Open now weekends through October 31, 2011.

Tickets: Prices vary and they offer VIP Unlimited passes.

Zombie Manor

They certainly play up the zombie element at this haunted house. Visitors to Zombie Manor have said that the zombie actors are really great. It just might scare the pants off of you.

When: Through October 31, 2011

Where: Arlington, TX.

Admission: $15. Speed pass $20.
