Dallas has 17 public pools open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend 2011. Some pools were closed in 2010 for renovations but they are open this year.
The Dallas Park and Recreation Department offers low cost swim lessons at locations throughout the city. Consider making a donation toward swim lessonos. Your $30 donation will fund a two week session of swim lessons for one child. And it might save a life. Drowning is the second leading cause of death and injury to children under 15 years of age in the United States. Unfortunately many families can not afford swim lessons.
