Seaons 52 is a fresh grill restaurant that strives to prepare the freshest foods in a healthy manner. Translation: no butter, no frying. By celebrating the ever-changing harvest of each season, guests are sure to encounter a unique and rich dining experience. Summer foods are fresh and indulgent without being high in calories. It's true: nothing on the menu is over 475 calories. How's that possible? The portion sizes aren't microscopic and the flavor is abundant. Seasons 52 has a culinary magic wand.

What's New

First let's check out the appetizer menu. Vegetarians will delight in the fact that there's an entire veggie dish called the Summer Vegetarian Tasting that features "Grains of Life," a veggie taco, a veggie-stuffed chile relleno, more roasted vegetables plus a cedar-roasted tofu with apple-mango chutney.

The veggie taco was filled with peppers, onions, mole, cheese, salsa verde and guacamole. Loved it. And I've never met a chile relleno I didn't like. Theirs was filled with spinach, mushrooms and a little bit of cheese melted on top).

The "Grains of Life" was my most favorite of the sampler. A salad mix of quinoa, dried cranberries, jicama, fresh mint and citrus turned out to be the most unique and flavorful appetizer -- not to mention "healthy."

The chilled Lobster and Shrimp Spring Rolls were delicious perfection -- served with three dipping sauces that included salsa verde, lemongrass and a sweet-hot red chili suace. Phenomenal!I will order this all summer long and strongly urge them to bring it back in the fall.

Master Sommelier George Miliotes has also updated his “Drink These Before They Become Famous” list -- it's a selection of must-try wines for the newseason. This summer's finest includes one of my favorites: the Aveleda Vinho Verde, Portugal ’10/’11. It's crisp and light with just a hint of sweetness and sparkle. It's light; it's delicious. It's what summer's all about.

New Dinners

Carnivores: Don't miss the Piedmontese Bone-In Strip Steak. It's a delicious dish named after a breed of cattle originally found in the Piedmont region of northern Italy -- however, Seasons 52’s beef was raised in Nebraska and grass-fed with an all-natural diet. TMI? It's a fantastic cut of beef that's served in a red wine reduction with cremini mushrooms, grilled jumbo asparagus and fingerling potatoes. In a word, "Wow!" It's amazing.

Desserts

Seasonal desserts include the Blueberry Cheesecake and the Raspberry Chocolate Chip Cannoli. I have to admit that in the sake of research, I tried them both. While they were both delicious, I enjoyed the Blueberry Cheesecake a bit more. It was fresh and light and tasted like 1,000 calories -- but we all know that it wasn't! Cheesecake + fresh blueberries + raspberry sauce + graham cracker crumbs = perfection!

If you don't want to indulge in these seasonal delights, you can always enjoy the mini regulars like the Key Lime Pie, Rocky Road, or Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse mini indulgences. With all these choices, how can you ever decide? The best bet is to order a couple of desserts and share with someone.
