There's a new festival in town and I predict it will be quite successful. Craft Cocktails Texas is a 4-day festival that celebrates the growing movement toward craft cocktails, artisan spirits and the classic techniques that mixologists use to prepare these drinks at your favorite watering holes. It takes place June 14-17, 2012.
The event features seminars (that you will actually want to attend), tastings, and cocktail parties, and is a celebration of the growing movement of craft cocktails, prohibition and pre-prohibition cocktails, and the utilization of artisan spirits in cocktail dens and restaurants across the state. These specialized techniques are changing the way that people are drinking -- and what they are drinking.
Though based in Dallas, Craft Cocktails Texas will draw participants and attendees from throughout Texas, as well as nationally-recognized spirits brands and industry veterans from around the country. A portion of the proceeds from Craft Cocktails Texas will benefit the Youth Foundation of the American Heart Association.
“Some of the country’s best cocktails are being made right here in Texas,” said Founders Nico Ponce and Brian McCullough. “Through Craft Cocktails Texas, we’re excited to showcase our state’s talented bartenders, while also offering educational resources and networking opportunities to industry professionals and liquor brands.”
