Cinco de Mayo, Spanish for "the fifth of May," celebrates the defeat of the French at the Battle of Puebla, which took place on May 5, 1862. Celebrating Cinco de Mayo has become increasingly popular in the DFW area. Many celebrate the day with dancing, music, food and beverages. Many restaurants and bars offer food or drink specials and live music. In Texas, it's just a great excuse for a fiesta!
Blue Goose Cantina
The fiesta at Blue Goose Cantina kicks it off with $3 Bloody Marys, $5 el Jimador top shelf margaritas, $4 house margaritas, $2 Dos Equis. The Plano location is featuring a live band from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Other locations feature the same specials but not the band.Cyclone Anaya's
Bring your amigos for cocktails, entertainment, giveaways fun and free food. Mariachis will perform as you sip $8 Avion premium margaritas at the Oak Lawn location. The Fairview location is serving up $9 margs and $5 regular margaritas, $3.50 for all beers, there will be a complimentary chalupa and mini taco station from 3-6 p.m. and a DJ live from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
