DFW Cajun Seafood Restaurants

Great Places to Celebrate Mardi Gras, Fat Tuesday

By

Are you ready to get your Crawfish on? If you're ready to celebrate Mardi Gras and Fat Tuesday, then here are some great DFW restaurants for New Orleans cuisine.

Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen

Angela Patterson

Celebrate Mardi Gras March 4-8, 2011 with 1 1/4th pounds of crawfish for only $9.95. Supplies are limited.

Don't miss: The Shrimp and Crawfish Fondeaux is a sinful blend of cheese, cream, spicy crawfish and shrimp with mushrooms and spinach served with garlic bread. That could easily be a meal. The onion rings are addictive. And two words: banana pudding. Just get it to go because you won't have room to eat it there.

Locations throughout DFW.

S&D Oyster Company

This is really a Dallas institution when it comes to seafood. Consistently great. The perfect pre-American Airlines Center event dining spot.

Don't miss: You can't beat the fried oysters and fried shrimp combo platter with--wait for it--real fried potatoes. Yes, real french fries.

Closed Sundays.

S&D Oyster Company, 2701 McKinney Ave, Dallas, TX 75204.  214-880-0111.

Boo-Ray's of New Orleans

Jalapeno Fried Catfish. The Stuffed Shrimp is actually stuffed with more shrimp (and crabmeat). Wow!

Don't miss: Boudin. That's all you gotta know!

7255 Boat Club Road, Fort Worth, TX 76179. 817-236-6149.
3039 Fort Worth Highway, Hudson Oaks.

Dodie's Cajun Restaurant

Boiled crawfish and more.

Don't miss: The Cajun Cocktail--a huge glass full of shrimp, crawfish tails, avocado, tomatoes, cilantro and chips for $10.95.

Locations throughout DFW.

Fish City Grill

Angela Patterson

Oh Jambalaya, Crawfish Pie, Filet Gumbo. Fish City Grill has all the flavors of Louisiana including these three delightful dishes.

Don't miss: Fried Oyster Nachos. And don't share them either. It's every man (or woman) for himself.

Big Mardi Gras party at 6 p.m. with live music at their Preston Road/Dallas location.

Locations in Arlington, Garland, Dallas, Flower Mound, Southlake.

The Bayou Market Cajun Deli

Cajun Deli. Cuban sandwich, red beans and rice, seafood platters.

Don't miss: Crawfish Po Boys.

Bayou Market Cajun Deli. 101 E. Southwest Parkway, Lewisville, TX 75067. 972-434-8500.

Razzoo's Cajun Cafe

Angela Patterson

If you like to pinch a little tail, then their Boiled Crawfish is only $5.99/lb. or only $4.99/lb. during happy hour. Wash it down with a nice Abita Draft.

Don't miss: Rat Toes. An appetizer of crab and shrimp stuffed jalapenos, battered and fried with a buttermilk dip.

Locations throughout DFW.

Margeaux

Cajun and Creole food: Red beans and rice, deep-fried soft shell crabs, muffulettos, homemade desserts.

Don't miss: Crawfish and Shrimp Enchiladas, muffulettos.

150 Turtle Creek Blvd., Dallas, TX 75207. 214-740-1985.
