Make Plans For an Eggs-celent Holiday


There's not a better way to celebrate springtime than a luxurious Easter brunch with friends or family. In 2013, Easter is Sunday, March 31. DFW has many great restaurants offering special menus and buffets. Here are some tips and reminders to make your dining experience more pleasurable. This is a very popular day for dining out, so make a reservation whenever possible. Buffet prices do not include tax or tips. Some places may charge for parking.

All brunches are for Sunday, March 31, 2013 unless otherwise specified.

The Dallas Arboretum

There's probably not a more lovely spot to brunch that the Arboretum. They are still taking reservations for the 10:30 am or 12:30 pm Easter Brunch seating). Contact Debbie Parker at 214-515-6511 to make reservations.

What: Asador, the farm to fire restaurant located in the Renaissance Dallas Hotel will offer Easter brunch March 31 from 11 a.m. TO 4 p.m. Brunch will include a variety of action stations such as a Hudspeth Farm carving table, charcuterie table, seafood and salad bar, a buffet with breakfast and lunch items and a desert room. Bottomless mimosas will be available for $5 and Bloody Mary’s will be $5 each. Enjoy music from an electric harpist from noon – 3 p.m.

Blue Mesa Grill

What: Colorful Southwestern-style Brunch Buffet complete with bottomless mimosas. Adults $18.95, children $6.95 (ages 6-10), free for children five and under.

Where: Addison, Dallas, Fort Worth, Plano, Southlake 

When: Special Easter hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Reservations: They call it "call ahead" but you can get a reservation up until 9:30 a.m. You basically get your name on a wait list. If you call ahead, you're on the list but they don't guarantee anything. It's better than showing up without being on the list and having to wait longer. Expect a wait on Easter Sunday.

Don't Miss: Glazed Ham, Roasted Brisket, Adobe Pie stuffed with chicken, cheese and roasted peppers and limitless sweet potato chips and guacamole, Mimosas or champagne.

Bread Winner's Cafe

What: Regular Sunday Brunch menu. Ranges from $9.99 to $16.99; kids $4.99 to $6.99. BW's Eggs Benedict is my personal favorite brunch item!

Where: Three locations: 4201 Preston Road, Plano, TX 75093; 3301 McKinney Ave, Dallas, TX 75204; 5560 W. Lovers Lane, Dallas, TX 75209.

Reservations: No reservations for Sunday Brunch.

Sounds Great: Cake decorators and bakers make over 100 varieties of cakes, pies, cheesecakes, cookies, bars and brownies that are almost too pretty to eat. Great salads, sandwiches, breakfast items.

Don't Miss: Chicken 'n Waffles. They rock.

Café On The Green

What: Buffet, kids buffet and Easter Bunny. Adults $70, children $28 (ages 5-11), free for children four and under.

Where: Four Seasons Resort and Club, 4150 N. MacArthur Blvd., Irving, TX 75038

When: 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Reservations: 972-717-2420. Fills up quickly. Reserve in advance.

Sounds Great: Crab claws, jumbo shrimp, Texas-honey baked bone ham and lamb at the hot carving station and an entire room of desserts.

Cast Iron at the Omni Fort Worth

An Easter Brunch celebration featuring traditional breakfast items and an array of Chef-inspired lunch selections. Complimentary Mimosas and $5 Bloody Mary's. Dessert Buffet, Kids Buffet, Breakfast Buffet, Appetizer Buffet and Featured Selections.

When: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Cost: Adult $47.95, $22.95 children 5-12, free under 5. Complimentary Valet.

Central 214

Executive Chef Graham Dodds is offering scrumptious springtime favorites for Easter Brunch at Central 214, featuring natural, locally sourced ingredients from his favorite farmers and purveyors. The a la carte menu, plus $5 specials on Bloody Mary's and Mimosas, will be offered on Sunday, March 31, 2013, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

When: March 31, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

What: Breakfasty stuff, sandwiches, entrees.

My Pick: Either the Deep d+Dish Quiche, chorizo, chard, oaxaca cheese + salsa verde $12; or the Hot Smoked Salmon, maple glaze, spinach + breakfast potatoes, $18. Yum!


Fearing’s Restaurant will present a sumptuous three-course Easter Brunch featuring all your favorites.

Cost: $75 for adults; $30 for children 12 years of age and under, exclusive of tax, beverage and gratuity.

Gaylord Texan Resort

What: Get dressed up in your Easter best for the 2013 Easter Buffet because Kodak will be on hand to photgraph your family. You won't have to hunt for eggs this year; they will be handed out as you walk in the door.

When: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Reservations: 817-722-9024. Seating every half hour.

Champagne Brunch Cost: Adults $71, children $29 (ages 4-12), free for children three and under.

My pick: Awesome seafood bar and excellent herb crusted prime rib, Texas Cinnamon Ham with Apple Compote, carved-to-order rosemary and garlic leg of lamb, chilled salads, smoked fish, sushi.

For the Kids: Chicken fingers, breakfast items, a chocolate fountain plus sugar free dessert bar.

Hotel Intercontinental

What: Easter Buffet with complimentary mimosas and champagne.

Where: The Hotel Intercontinental, Crystal Ballroom, 15201 Dallas Parkway, Dallas, TX 75001.

When: 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Cost: Adults $65, children $25 (ages 4-12), free for children 3 and under. 50% off for Active Military (with ID).

Reservations: 972-386-6000

Sounds Great: Crab Cake Station, Pepper Crusted Prime Rib, Honey Glazed Spiral Ham and more. The Chocolate Fountain comes with everything from fruit, marshmallows, cookies and more for dipping.
