DFW is known for its fabulous food. There's a nice variety of four- and five-star restaurants serving many different cuisines. Whether you're in the mood for a Prime Steak, a flavorful salad or vegetarian dish, Diver Sea Scallops, or a decadent dessert, make a reservation today and celebrate. Ratings change from time-to-time so I've also listed a few 4 and 4.5 star restaurants whose food and service deserve the mention.

1. Abacus - Dallas

Abacus is one of "Iron Chef" Kent Rathbun's famous restaurants. Try out the $65 tasting menu Mondays through Thursdays or a 9-course tasting for $95. Enjoy sushi and shashimi, soups and salads, or perhaps Crispy Bacon-Roasted Quail with Cornbread-Chorizo Stuffing. Prime steaks, fresh seafood, desserts and Artisan cheese.

2. Bijoux

Enjoy a delightful five-course prix fixe menu for $75 or the chef's tasting menu for $99. The fabulous atmosphere and impeccable menu will beg you to come back again soon.

3. Dakota's Steakhouse

Leave the city behind as you take an elevator down to the restaurant. The simple elegance of their dining room makes Dakota's perfect for entertaining clients or impressing a date.

4. The French Room

The French Room received the highest rating ever of any restaurant in the United States in the Zagat Survey. In addition, it's been named "Most Romantic," "Best French," and one of the top restaurants in America. So expect exceptional service and culinary perfection.

Dress Code: Jackets required for men; ties optional. No denim or sneakers.

5. The Grill on the Alley

Steak, seafood, and pasta make up the signature dishes at this deliciously American restaurant. Extensive wine list.

6. Hotel St. Germain Dallas

Enjoy a romantic, European-style dining experience by candlelight. The gourmet menu changes regularly; it's prix fixe at $85 per person and available through reservation.

7. Landmark Restaurant

Great atmosphere and one of the best piano bars in Dallas. Perfect if you're in the mood for Roasted Lamb T-Bones, Pork Osso Buco or an Angus Filet. They also feature a fantastic Sunday Brunch Menu.

8. Lanny's Alta Cocina

Lanny is the great-grandson of the legendary Joe T. Garcia so cooking is in his blood. Tapas, soups and salads, 5-Course Tasting Menu $60, fabulous desserts and you must inquire about the Horizontal Flight of Reserva Tequila ($75).

9. Lonesome Dove Western Bistro

Iron Chef Winner Owner Tim Love has struck gold with this Fort Worth bistro. The menu makes my mouth water: Blue Corn Lobster Hushpuppies, White Truffled Mac n Cheese. The dinner menu sounds as wild as the west itself with Rabbit and Rattlesnake Sausage, Wild Boar Ribs, Kangaroo Nachos, Elk Sausage Sliders, and Pan Seared Texas Quail. End your exotic meal with Warm Ancho Chile Chocolate Cake with Roasted Pepita Ice Cream.

10. The Mansion on Turtle Creek

The Mansion on Turtle Creek has been one of Dallas' favorite fine restaurants for years. One of the Mansion's signature appetizers is the Tortilla Soup. Seasonal tasting menu. Salads, Roasted Veal Chop, prime steaks, seafood, duck, Black Truffle-Ham Macaroni and Cheese. If you're looking for a romantic spot to pop the question, this is one of DFW's favorite locations.
