The Avalon Salon and Spa is situated in a quiet side street of the West Village. Upon entering Avalon, it seems to be an ordinary bustling–albeit very chic–hair salon, but walking through an unassuming door with the unassuming label "Spa", you enter a very different world.
Gentle music plays, welcoming visitors into the elegantly appointed hallway. The Asian-inspired design combines comfort with style. The well-groomed therapists greet visitors with friendly, but hushed voices to preserve the calm of the spa.
Avalon offers a full range of spa services, including facials, massage, manicures and pedicures, and hair removal. As an Aveda salon, aromatherapy options can be incorporated into most services.
Getting There: Take DART's Red or Blue lines to CityPlace station and follow the signs to the West Village. Turn right on McKinney and left on Blackburn Street and Avalon will be on your left in the first drive way you come to.
To drive there, take I-75 (Central Expy) and exit Lemmon Avenue. Go west on Lemmon and turn right on McKinney Avenue. Turn left into the West Village parking area and park for free before 4 p.m. and for $5 after 4 p.m. Walk back out to McKinney and go left to Blackburn Street. Turn left and Avalon will be on your left in the first drive way you come to.
