The state's Tax-Free Weekend 2011 is Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 19, 20 and 21. To accommodate shoppers, several DFW area malls will offer extended hours -- opening earlier and closing later. Vista Ridge Mall, Town East Mall and Stonebriar Centre will open at 9 a.m. and close at 10 p.m. on Friday, August 19 and Saturday, August 20. On Sunday, August 21, hours are 12 to 6 p.m.

Department stores, restaurants and entertainment venues at the shopping center may keep different hours. Shoppers should call for exact opening and closing times.

It Pays to Save: Bonus at Vista Ridge Mall

Shoppers taking advantage of Texas’s Tax-Free holiday will get an extra bonus when shopping at Vista Ridge Mall in Lewisville. On Friday and Saturday, August 19 and 20, customers will receive a $20 Shop Etc. mall gift card, while supplies last, when they bring receipts totaling $150 or more to the Redemption Zone located on the lower level in Center Court between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m.

Tax-Free Shopping Weekend: What's Included?

Tax-Free Shopping includes most clothing and footwear under $100, backpacks for elementary and secondary school students, and basic school supplies. Lay-away plans can again be used to take advantage of the tax-exempt savings. For more information Tax-Free Shopping.
