Great Mother's Day Gift Ideas

By , About.com Guide

Ok, Mom does not need a kitchen appliance, a coffee mug that says "World's Greatest Mom" or an apron. Make her feel as special as she is with a thoughtful gift from the heart. Here are a few favorite items that any Mother would surely love. (Hint, Hint: I would).

1. Mom Wants Something From Heart's Desire!

Angela Patterson

I love this boutique in Frisco. It's where to go for personalized products, jewelry, stationery and invitations, all your favorite candles and home fragrance, bath and body lines, seasonal items and gourmet foods.

What to Expect: Unique items bordering on fun. Your heart will desire everything in the store. I love how cute and homey everything is!

Just for Mom: I love the polka dot serving tray by Patio Accessories. It's $69 and comes with a stand (not pictured).
Wine Stems by Momo Panache $18 each
Stemless wine glasses $16 each
Ice bucket with scoop $29
Monogrammed Styrofoam cups $6.50

2. Flower Power!

Angela Patterson
Of course Mom loves flowers! You can never go wrong with fresh roses, exotic orchids, hydrangeas, lillies or a colorful combination of all Mom's faves. One great thing about floral arrangements is that they are available in many styles and price ranges. There's a lot of variety -- even if you order a dozen roses.

You probably know her favorite flowers so be sure to order her favorites. If you're not sure, you can't go wrong with a dozen red or pink roses or a colorful arrangement. Follow the link to a few of my favorite florists.

3. Z Gallerie's Orchid Home Fragrence

Mom's house always smells like home. Why not get her a gift that she will enjoy for months to come with a collection of Orchid fragrances from Z Gallerie. This montage of fresh, clean scents comes in avocado colored candles, a bundle of potpourri made of dried plant material or a diffuser. (I personally love the diffuser). They're all guaranteed to infuse the home with an invigorating scent. My Mother loves the orchid diffuser. Bet yours will too!

Diffuser $36.95
Potpourri $17.95
3x6 Candle $19.95

6. Celebrity Bakery

Angela Patterson

Mom would love for the kids to bake her a cake or some cookies. But she'd really love it if they didn't mess up her clean kitchen. Dad could always drive them over to Celebrity Bakery and find some tasty treats for Mom (and a few for the kids too). They have a variety of cakes, pies, iced sugar cookies, petit fours and more. They are as delicious as they are beautifully decorated.

Locations in Colleyville, Frisco, Highland Park Village/Dallas, North Dallas, Plano,
